Thermage CPT

Thermage is a non-invasive radiofrequency procedure for shrinking the skin and tightening the skin on the face, neck, abdomen, arms, thighs or buttocks.

This monopolar radiofrequency system really tightens up the deep skin tissues while promoting new collagen production.
The earlier the treatment the more chance there is of avoiding or delaying the need for an invasive surgical procedure.

Blazing a trail for radiofrequency technology, Thermage differs from the other systems owing to the depth of action and the fact that the treatment is completed in just one session.

The system has passed the various stringent **FDA (Food and Drug Administration) tests required for labelling as a safe and effective medical device.
**This subtle rejuvenation treatment has undergone several high-quality clinical investigations.

The results of treatments may vary from one person to another and are therefore not guaranteed.
Therefore, they represent no binding commitment on the part of the office, the personnel or any third party.

The technology was radically improved with the advent of the new Thermage CPT system, speeding up the treatment and, more importantly, making it much more comfortable for patients, owing to a better control of the heating effect and pain sensation.

Areas susceptible to treatment
Face:
Drooping eyelids, cheekbones, cheeks, forehead, the oval of the face and neck can be treated.
Good candidates for this treatment are patients with average or moderate skin laxity opting for a non-surgical treatment.
The treatment is also suitable for patients wishing to sustain the result of a surgical lift.
The new Thermage CPT system means the treatment of larger areas with 12 cm tips has now become ideally suited for abdomen laxity, sagging skin on the underside of the arms or thighs and slack skin on the buttocks
These are locations for which few other options are feasible, and skin reduction surgery inevitably leaves serious scarring.

This is what happens during the session
A treatment grid is drawn on the skin so the heat effect is spread very uniformly.
The practitioner will make repeated passes over the area with the device, subsequently focusing on areas of tension so as to orient the skin retraction.
Throughout the session the skin is cooled before and after each pulse with the cryogenic gas incorporated into the device. Each pulse produces a tingling sensation accompanied by heat then a cold sensation.
The session lasts between one and two hours depending on the size of the area being treated.

Your appearance after the session
A slight swelling or redness may appear lasting 2 hours. A slight skin sensitivity may last up to 2 to 3 days. An ultra-moisturising and firming cream is prescribed after the treatment.
With no downtime people can return to their normal daily activities immediately following the treatment.

Contraindications and side-effects
There are contraindications of an electrical nature, and in particular the treatment is not recommended for patients with a pace maker or a defibrillator.
The practitioner will have to make an assessment concerning the advisability of the treatment in the case of the long-term use of anti-inflammatory medicines, pregnancy, permanent makeup and tattoos.
A history of corneal pathology rules out the treatment of the eyes, as this involves the use of eye protection cups.
Hyperpigmentations, transient sensitivity disorders and small marks with the first-generation device, dating back to 2002, were reported in extremely rare cases (2 out of every 1000 patients treated) but these cases have steadily declined since then.
No irreversible second-effects are reported with the new generation Thermage CPT system.

The results
The face: the oval of the face is redesigned, the skin under the chin and neck is tighter. The patient has a rejuvenated appearance and the eye area is less slack.
The body: improved tone in the skin area treated, a significant decrease in the crepey appearance and a tightening of the skin (lifting effect).
Patients will see an improvement during  the months following the treatment. The results can continue to develop up to 6 months.
The response to treatment may vary from one individual to another.
Thermage can be combined with other treatments (injections, IPL fractional laser, resurfacing radiofrequency, etc.). The practitioner will offer you guidance during the consultation.
How Thermage CPT differs from other radio frequency devices
Owing to its patented capacitive radiofrequency technology, Thermage CPT is the only device on the market that can heat deep layers of the skin to produce a "lifting effect" in just one session.
The ergonomic, single-use treatment tips create a higher-quality and uniform heat effect.

The cost of Thermage CPT treatment

The cost of the procedure varies between €2,000 and €3,000 depending on the size of the surface to be treated.
