Treatment of stretch marks

Permanent stretch marks can have a not-to-be-underestimated psychological impact on the quality of life of certain patients.
Stretch marks are caused by tears in collagen fibres and elastic fibres as a result of overly-fast and premature stretching of the skin.
The skin has a certain elasticity and, in such cases, is exposed to stretching that exceeds it capacity.
Stretch marks primarily appear during major body changes, like pregnancy, weight loss or weight gain.

In some case, they can also be encountered in endocrine diseases (Cushing's syndrome) and during general or local cortico therapy.

These skin injuries are fairly wide spread and deep, and appear in the form of lines or stripes.
They primarily appear in the body's convex zones (hips, thighs, breasts, etc.)

Preventive treatment involves checking risk factors and performing rolling massage (endermology) during strict diets or pregnancy.
Local treatments with topical medicine (tretinoin cream) sometimes provides results on recent stretch marks (purplish red).

From now on, permanent white stretch marks can be successfully treated via a sub-ablative laser procedure with radio frequency - MATRIX RF™ by SYNERON MEDICAL.

This technique can be easily performed by an experienced laser operator.
It is normally necessary to perform 2 to 3 sessions, with an interval of 4 weeks between each treatment, in order to achieve a considerable reduction in skin injuries.

The results of treatments may vary from one person to another and are therefore not guaranteed.
Therefore, they represent no binding commitment on the part of the office, the personnel or any third party.
