Osteopathy

Osteopathy
Osteopathy is a non-conventional diagnostic and therapeutic system based on the quality of movement in the body. Treatment is exclusively manual, considering the individual as a whole and integrated into his or her environment.
Osteopaths are renowned for their ability to treat pain and problems related to the musculoskeletal system, including many forms of back pain.
According to research carried out among 3,000 osteopaths, more than half of their consultations are related to dysfunction of the rachis (back).
The field of expertise extends to the following acute and chronic pathologies, among others:
- Sprains
- Sports injuries
- Cervicalgia, scapulalgia, lumbago, etc.
- Herniated discs
- Scoliosis, hyperlordosis, etc.
Although it is preferable to be a physiotherapist (or doctor) in order to study osteopathy, it should be pointed out that osteopathy is not a specialisation of physiotherapy. Osteopathy and physiotherapy, without being opposed, are fundamentally complementary.
